Amin Abujoub, Ph.D.
Chief Technical Operations Officer
Dr. Amin Abujoub was appointed Chief Technical Operations Officer in July 2024. He is responsible for global oversight of manufacturing, operations, engineering and facilities, CMC, process and analytical development, and quality.
He joined uniQure in 2021 as Senior Vice President of Global Quality and became Chief Quality Officer in January 2023. In this role, he was responsible for providing strategic quality leadership along the entire value chain for product development through post commercialization with a strong emphasis on GxP compliance. He built out uniQure’s global Quality organization and led successful FDA, IGJ, EMA, and Health Canada sites inspections.
Prior to joining uniQure, Dr. Abujoub was the SVP of Global Quality at Intercept Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for the strategic and operational aspects of quality assurance, quality systems and global corporate GxP compliance.
Prior to Intercept, Dr. Abujoub was the VP of Global Quality Ops at Biogen and was responsible for providing Quality oversight for internal and external manufacturing of their clinical and commercial products. Before leading the global Quality Assurance organization, he was the VP of Global Quality Control, and he established the lab of the future concept in the Quality Control organization for Biogen. During his 19 years tenure at Biogen, he held many leadership roles of increasing responsibility within Global Quality and Operations including roles in CMC Program Management and Clinical Drug Supply.
Dr. Abujoub holds a B.S. in Medical Technology from Yarmouk University, Jordan, an M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and a Ph.D. in Molecular Virology, both from Michigan State University.
